GHD is on the lookout for an experienced, client-focused Renewables Lead to join our team and drive business growth in the Power & Energy market in Aotearoa with a strong emphasis on Renewable Projects.

This role is designed for a professional passionate about renewable energy, who will serve as the primary point of contact for our key clients, ensuring tailored solutions and exceptional service.

You'll work with leading generators, developers and financiers as New Zealand's renewable pipeline accelerates across solar, BESS and pump hydro storage. Drawing on your technical and project experience, you'll connect clients with GHD's national and global specialists across planning, grid connection, due diligence, design, delivery and asset optimisation playing a key part in helping deliver projects the contribute to Aotearoa's renewable energy mix.

This position is based in Auckland (preferred).

The role:

• Collaborate closely with GHD's network of renewable experts to build and strengthen client relationships, expanding GHD's presence in New Zealand's Renewable Energy sector.

• Serve as the main liaison for major Solar and BESS projects, aligning client objectives with innovative project outcomes.

• Lead project delivery teams and take on design manager or project manager responsibilities for client-centric engagements.

• Spearhead bid processes from go/no-go decisions through proposal development, engaging directly with clients to craft bespoke solutions.

• Cultivate long-term partnerships with leading electricity generators and renewable developers.

• Act as a trusted advisor, proactively addressing client challenges and identifying opportunities to drive sustainable growth.

• Focus on projects in the New Zealand/Pacific region, with opportunities to engage with clients across the wider APAC market.

About you:

• Bachelor's degree in Relevant Engineering discipline.

• Minimum 10 years industry experience with a proven track record in client engagement and relationship management.

• Demonstrated project management expertise, including leading successful, client-winning proposals and marketing pursuits (PMP certified is preferred)

• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical solutions to diverse audiences.

• Proactive, decisive, and client-centric with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
