Auditor - Food Industry

The Opportunity
Join AsureQuality's Auditing Services team and make a real impact on the quality and safety of New Zealand's food.
We're looking for an experienced Food Industry Auditor to help us uphold Aotearoa's reputation for world-class food standards - here at home and across the globe.
In this role, you'll take ownership of:
- Analysing and evaluating processes, records, and systems
- Ensuring compliance with national and international standards
- Providing clear, professional guidance to our customers
- Staying ahead of emerging trends and regulatory changes
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement in food safety practices
- Completing all audit activities and services as per regulatory or standard requirements and in accordance with the appropriate AsureQuality Procedures.
- Completing the relevant skills checks; complete audits in a professional manner; attend technical meetings and lead audit teams
- Providing technically accurate and timely audit reports to the client
- Contributing to programme, procedure, and training development, while supporting projects, proposals, and internal audits across AsureQuality.
- Maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and provide professional, standards-focused service to clients and industry partners.
You'll be part of a collaborative, specialist team that delivers trusted auditing and certification services nationwide. Our auditors are known for their professionalism, strong communication skills, and ability to build genuine, lasting relationships with clients.
Qualifications
About You
You're a confident communicator and natural problem-solver with a passion for food safety and quality. To succeed, you'll bring:
- 5+ years' experience in food industry service, food safety, food audit management and/or quality management systems
- BRC and SQF auditor approvals required
- A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
- Proven experience in internal and/or external auditing (HACCP awareness essential)
- Knowledge of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
- Familiarity with standards such as Risk Based Measures (Food Act), SQF, or BRCGS (highly regarded)
- Exceptional attention to detail and a drive to deliver excellence
- The ability to quickly build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders
Additional Information
What We Offer
This role attracts the salary of $110K - $120K based on guaranteed 40 hours per week.
This is a permanent role.
