The Opportunity
We’re looking for a detail-focused and analytical Risk professional to join our team on a permanent basis, supporting the uplift of risk management practices across Aon New Zealand.
What your day could look like
- Supporting the Operational Compliance Manager in embedding practical risk management practices across the organisation.
- Partnering with risk owners and business stakeholders to complete risk assessments to determine residual and inherent risk ratings for all risk categories (Operational, Financial, Data etc.)
- Partnering with the business to support the identification and documentation of internal controls.
- Conducting control assessments to determine the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Supporting the maintenance of risk and control registers to ensure high quality risk data to support accurate, clear and insightful risk reporting.
- Overseeing internal client classification approval processes and ensuring timely escalation where required.
What success looks like (first 6–12 months)
- Establish and maintain risk and control registers, with high quality data on risks, controls, issues, action plans, and other key components of a risk management framework.
- Risk assessments performed across all risk categories to provide a view of the Aon NZ enterprise risk profile.
- Delivering timely and insightful risk reporting to enable risk-based decision making for Aon NZ leadership.
- Positive collaboration with stakeholders, enabling a practical and sustainable uplift in risk management practices.
About you
- Experience in risk or compliance environment (insurance or financial services preferred)
- Experience supporting risk assessments, control assessments, or issue and action management.
- Experience maintaining risk and control registers and producing risk reporting.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels.
- A structured, organised approach with a focus on delivering high quality and accurate outcomes.
- Experience in developing and maintaining SharePoint registers an advantage.
