General Manager - Growth Enablement

We’re looking for a strategic and commercially savvy leader to take on our General Manager – Growth Enablement (including Aon Client Leader) role, leading how we drive growth, optimise our pipeline, and deliver exceptional client outcomes across New Zealand.
About the Role:
This is a senior leadership role with real influence across the business. You’ll operate at both a strategic and operational level, working closely with executive leaders to shape and deliver Aon’s growth strategy.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading and executing Aon’s New Zealand growth strategy, driving stronger pipeline visibility and performance
- Optimising our end-to-end revenue funnel, from new business opportunities through to conversion and onboarding
- Elevating our bid and proposal capability, ensuring we consistently deliver high-quality submissions that improve win rates
- Embedding the Aon Client Leader (ACL) model, ensuring clear client planning, execution, and accountability across key accounts
- Partnering with stakeholders across the business to enhance the client experience and drive retention
- Using data, analytics, and CRM insights to inform decision-making and drive performance
- Indirectly leading and influencing a national business development and bid function, fostering a strong “one team” approach
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a seasoned leader who brings both commercial sharpness and strategic thinking, alongside the ability to influence at all levels.
You’ll likely have:
- Extensive senior leadership experience (typically 10–15+ years) in insurance, broking, or financial services
- A strong track record of driving growth, acquisition, and business performance
- Proven ability to lead and influence high-performing teams (including indirect leadership)
- Experience shaping and delivering a customer-centric or client experience strategy
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to translate strategy into action
- Deep stakeholder management capability, with experience engaging executive leaders, clients, and industry partners
- Ideally, exposure to bid management, pipeline/CRM tools, and data-led decision making
