The Opportunity
Operate CNC machining centers to safely and efficiently machine heavy fabrications and cast components to engineering specifications, ensuring consistent quality, delivery performance, and adherence to Waratah standards.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Safety & Compliance
Operate CNC equipment and lifting devices in accordance with safety standards
Safely handle large components using approved rigging methods
Report hazards, incidents, and near misses
Maintain clean and compliant work areas (5S)
Follow lockout/tagout and guarding requirements
Machine Setup & Operation
Set up CNC machining centers including tooling and programs
Load, align, and secure heavy components
Execute machining operations
Monitor and adjust machining processes
Perform first-off and in-process checks
Quality Assurance
Interpret drawings and specifications
Perform in-process inspections
Ensure components meet quality standards
Escalate non-conforming parts
Equipment Uptime & Reliability
Conduct daily machine checks
Identify abnormal machine behaviour
Perform basic troubleshooting
Support preventative maintenance
Production Delivery
Meet production targets
Minimise scrap and downtime
Support efficient machine utilisation
Communicate delays
What You Need To Be Successful In The Role

You take ownership with a strong understanding of machining processes and quality control
Qualifications Required
Trade Certification in Mechanical Engineering level 4 (Machining)
Relevant and proven CNC Machining experience
