Our District Youth Managers provide mentoring, development, and people leadership to volunteer Area Youth Managers and District Youth Support Officers. They also work with the wider regional youth leadership team to support the development and delivery of the Regional Youth Strategy.
A pivotal role in the Youth team, your well-honed organisational skills, and proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships will be critical in supporting the Divisions to deliver on the IBP and Youth Strategy objectives. As an Area Youth Manager, you will be provided with the opportunity to gain self-reward and develop both personally and professionally.
About the role:
- Assist the Regional Youth Manager to meet requirements within the Youth Business Plan
- Manage the District to contribute to and deliver on the IBP and Youth Strategy objectives eg: Grand Prior, super penguin etc
- Oversee the delivery of District Level events in conjunction with District Youth Support and the wider district youth leadership team
- Encourage and promote Divisions involvement in both District and Regional level events
- Manage District budgets in line with guidelines and provide support to Area / Divisions to develop and manage budgets when required
- Support and manage district recruitment through the organisation of events, and completion of recruitment processes
- Promote the youth programme to increase youth and adult membership
- Grow and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in the region, relevant staff and volunteers in the wider Hato Hone St John, and with your local community

Some key requirements:
- Prior experience in a leadership/management role developing others
- A real team player with a keen interest in working with young people
- An aptitude for working with a diverse demographic group e.g. age, culture, background
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- A proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
- Customer focussed with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Have a natural talent for thinking and working outside the square
- Able to contribute at least 10 hours per week to the role and attend overnight camps and competitions from time to time
