Apiary Team Leader (Internal Candidates Only)

We're looking for an Apiary Team Leader to support our Wairarapa Branch Leadership team alongside their group of high-performing beekeepers.

This is a hands-on role where you'lloversee hive performance, drive operational excellence, and support the development of beekeepers-ensuring strong honey yields andoptimal hive health across the Wairarapa region.

Key Responsibilities;

• Safelyplan,manageand executethe day-to-day operationsforyour teamto secure a honeycrop

• Accountable for the preparation and performance ofallocatedhives to deliver Apiary performancetargets

• Lead your team; train and support the development of beekeepers under yoursupervision

• Oversee hive management to ensuredesignatedhives are incrop ready state atthe agreed scheduledtime

• Work in all aspects of the business including honey production, disease control to maximise the productivity of the operation, targetingconsistentyields ofhigh-qualityManukahoney

• Interact with landowners to ensure weretainaccess toApiary siteswithin aproperty

• Support Apiary Managerwhererequired

About You

You'rea passionate beekeeper and natural leader who thrives in a hands-on environment.

Your experience and skills will include:

• Minimum5+ years' commercial beekeeping experience

• Strong knowledge of bee husbandry, hive management, and honey production

• Ability toidentifyand manage bee diseases (AFB certification preferred)

• Proven experience leading and developing teams

• Confidence operating vehicles in off-road NZ conditions
