Appian Lead Developer
We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer to architect and deliver complex Appian solutions for some of New Zealand and Australia's leading organisations. This is a hands-on technical leadership role - you will be the primary technical point of contact on client engagements, working closely with clients every day to shape solutions and deliver outcomes they can rely on.
This role sits within our growing Business Process Management practice, and you will play a real part in shaping it. As one of our senior technical voices, you will have the opportunity to mentor and coach other developers, contribute to how we build and run our Appian capability across a team that is genuinely on the move. If you are a developer who takes pride in technical craft and enjoys the client side of the work - this role is worth a conversation.
What You Will Do,
Day to day, you can expect to:
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact on client engagements - interacting with clients daily, leading conversations and solutioning sessions and presenting architectural options with clear trade-offs
- Design, architect and deliver complex end-to-end Appian solutions across the full SDLC - from requirements through development, integration, data migration, testing, deployment and post-go-live support
- Lead and guide a team of developers - conducting code reviews, setting and enforcing development standards, mentoring team members and being accountable for the quality of overall delivery
- Drive Agile delivery - running sprint ceremonies, managing release planning, leading UAT and coordinating across client-side technical resources including DBAs, DevOps and QA
- Develop and document Appian governance standards and best practices and contribute to the growth of Tenzing's BPM capability and practice culture
What We're Looking For:
You will be an Appian practitioner who is equally at home in a client conversation as in a code review. Specifically, we are looking for:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience delivering Appian solutions in a client-facing consulting or professional services environment - Appian experience is essential
- Appian Senior Developer certification (ACD201) as a minimum; Lead Developer certification (ACD301) strongly preferred
- Proven experience as a client-facing technical lead, with a track record of building trusted relationships and serving as the primary technical point of contact on engagements
- Proficiency across Appian platform components including SAIL, Process Modeler, Record Types, Sites, Rules and Security - with the architectural understanding to design for scalability, maintainability and reuse
- Strong data capability - secure data modelling, data fabric and migration experience and the ability to work with high-volume database structures and diagnose performance issues
- Experience designing and implementing integrations between Appian and enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM and cloud services, using REST, SOAP and other API patterns
- Comfortable across the full delivery stack - deployments, version control, configuration management, DevOps practices and cloud-based Appian environments
- A capable team leader and coach - keen to lead developers, run Agile ceremonies and take ownership of delivery quality from code review through to go-live
- Experience working with New Zealand or Australian government and/or enterprise clients is advantageous
