About the Role | Mo te turanga:
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Disability Team Leader to provide leadership within our Disability Service. This role leads a dedicated Disability Team and plays a key role in supporting clients as they transition into and engage with our services.
You will also support service growth, operational and quality excellence, and compliance with best practice standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and support a team of 10 staff; Disability Outcomes Coaches, Payrun Support and Administration staff
- Facilitate team meetings, regular 1:1s, supervision, and annual performance reviews
- Identify and address practice and performance issues in a supportive and timely manner
- Contribute to development and continuous improvement initiatives
Service Delivery & Quality Oversight
- Lead disability service delivery
- Monitor and achieve KPIs to ensure high-quality outcomes and client experience
- Manage disability referrals and oversee Individualised Funding (IF) client budgets and payroll checks
- Support audits, manage complaints, and ensure compliance with contractual and best practice standards
- Actively embed Enabling Good Lives principles into everyday practice
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with MSD Disability Support Services, NASC Kaikaranga, and other sector partners
Bi-Cultural Commitment
- Demonstrate understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to honouring tangata whenua within service delivery
Skills & Experience | Pukenga & wheako:
- At least 3 years' experience in the Health or Disability sector
- Minimum 2 years' people management experience
- A relevant Level 4 qualification (or higher)
- Knowledge of Enabling Good Lives, the NZ Disability Strategy, and UNCRPD
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A current full, clean driver's licence
