Our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central team in Auckland is seeking a Lead Solution Designer to design and deliver innovative, scalable solutions to complex business challenges.
This role goes beyond traditional development. You will shape solution design, guide delivery teams, and work closely with customers to translate business requirements into practical, high-impact outcomes.
You will be part of one of New Zealand's most experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central teams, working on challenging and meaningful projects across industries.
This is a highly customer-facing role where your ability to explain technical concepts in plain English and build trusted relationships is critical.
What you will do:
- Lead solution architecture and design for complex Business Central implementations
- Work directly with customers to understand business challenges and shape end-to-end solutions
- Translate functional requirements into scalable technical designs and integration patterns
- Provide hands-on leadership across AL development, extensions, and integrations
- Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including automated testing and CI/CD
- Design and implement AI-driven and agentic workflows, supporting intelligent automation and next-gen solutions
- Mentor consultants and developers, lifting overall architecture capability across the team
- Ensure solutions are delivered to high quality, within agreed timelines and budgets
Skills and experience | Nga pukenga me nga wheako
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect or senior technical lead in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Strong track record in designing solutions for complex business requirements, not just implementing features
- Deep expertise in AL development, solution architecture, and extension/app design
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong knowledge of Azure, integrations (preferably Azure Integration Services), and Power Platform
- Experience with AI-driven development approaches, Copilot capabilities, and agentic workflows
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in plain English to non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset
- Experience with ISV solutions (e.g. Aptean, Continia, Tasklet)
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, AL-Go
