The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. As an engineer for this forward-thinking organisation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, availability, scalability, and performance of our applications.

ThisopportunityisbasedinourfullyrenovatedAucklandoffice. We have a hybrid arrangement of Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in office. Tuesdays and Thursdays are work from home.

• Analyzeandoptimizesystemreliability,performance,andresourceutilizationofcloudinfrastructure
• Developandmaintainautomationscriptsfordeployment,monitoring,andmaintenancetasks.
• Implementinfrastructureascode(IaC)toautomatetheprovisioningandconfigurationofinfrastructurecomponents.
• Designandimplementmonitoringsolutionstoproactivelyidentifyandaddressissues.
• Participateinon-callrotationsandrespondtoincidentstoensuresystemstabilityandperformance.
• Conductcapacityplanningtoanticipatefutureresourceneedsandoptimizeinfrastructurescalability.
• Defineandtrackreliabilitymetricstomeasureandimprovesystemperformance.
• Prepareandpresentreportsonsystemreliabilityandperformance.
• Workcloselywithsoftwaredevelopmentteamstoinfluenceandimprovethereliabilityandscalabilityofapplications.
• Conductpost-incidentreviewstoidentifyrootcausesandimplementpreventivemeasures.
• Troubleshootcomplexissuesinaproductionenvironment.

WhatYou'llBring

• 7+yearsofexperienceinaDevOps,SREorsimilarrole
• Bachelor'sdegreeinComputerScience,InformationTechnology,orarelatedfield.
• Relevantexperienceinsoftwareengineering,systemsadministration,orarelatedfield.
• Proficiencyinprogramminglanguages(e.g.Python,Go,Ruby)
• Strongscriptingskillsforautomationtasks(e.g.Bash,Python)
• Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS) and container orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes), including adherence to best practices and resource optimisation
• Aproficientunderstandingofcorenetworkingconcepts(e.g.TCP/IP,DNS,loadbalancing)
• FamiliaritywithInfrastructureasCode(IaC)tools(e.g.Terraform)and/orconfigurationmanagementtools(e.g.Ansible,Puppet,Chef)
• Experiencewithinfrastructuremonitoring,loggingandalertingtools(e.g.Datadog,Prometheus,Grafana,PagerDuty),andloganalysis
• Strongcollaborationandcommunicationskillstoworkeffectivelywithcross-functionalteams
• Abilitytoanalyzecomplexsystemsandtroubleshootissueseffectively
