About the team and the role

Our Corporate partner, Mei Fern Johnson, a market leader in the Corporate and Commercial fields, is looking for a mid to senior level corporate lawyer, interested in a broad Corporate and Commercial practice, ranging from M&A, complex commercial contracting (including technology contracting), governance and corporate advisory, to join her team in either Auckland or Wellington. This could be a full-time or part-time role.


The team acts for significant entities across the public and private sector. In this role, you would be involved in general corporate and commercial advisory work, commercial contract drafting and procurement, across the energy, infrastructure, technology and social sectors, to name a few.


The team pride themselves on their reliability, responsiveness and creativity to achieve client outcomes. They support and push each other to keep learning, developing and providing top quality advice. We're looking for a team player who will thrive in that environment and who is as excited about the work we do as we are!


About you

We are looking for a solicitor with:

  • 3+ years' corporate and/or commercial legal experience
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation - this is highly desirable, as it will be a core component of the role
  • Great attention to detail and high problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong spirit of service and client servicing skills
  • Strong academic record
  • Above all, a willingness to learn, develop, and keep challenging themselves
