Opportunity
This is a high-impact leadership role sitting at the centre of Aon NZ’s technical expertise!
You will be Aon’s lead technical advisor in NZ, working closely with broking teams, insurers, and clients. You ensure our insurance solutions are robust, fit-for-purpose, and meet market guidelines.
This is a unique opportunity to influence product development, elevate technical standards, and shape how we deliver for our clients across New Zealand.
What you’ll be doing
- Responsibility for the technical development of policy wordings, endorsements and custom solutions for Aon clients
- Ensuring consistency, quality and alignment to evolving market standards
- Providing trusted advice and supporting client-facing teams with complex coverage interpretation
- Providing guidance on client risk, claims scenarios and programme structure
- Driving quality & governance and translating technical detail into clear, practical advice
- Conducting technical audits to ensure adequacy of cover and compliance
- Monitoring regulatory and market developments to keep Aon at the forefront
- Delivering technical training where required and uplift capability across the business
- Acting as a subject matter expert across products and risk solutions
- Collaborating across broking, leadership, insurers and external advisors
- Contributing to central initiatives and continuous improvement
What you’ll bring
- We’re looking for someone who combines technical depth with commercial thinking and leadership presence:
- Strong experience in insurance policy wording, coverage and technical advisory
- Deep understanding of risk transfer and insurance programme design
- Proven ability to interpret complex policy language and provide clear guidance
- Experience working with brokers, insurers and complex corporate clients
- Strong interested party management and influencing skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop and uplift teams
