Labourer - Christchurch
About the job:
We’re looking for a Labourer to join our Waterways Team in Christchurch.
As a Labourer, you’ll help keep the waterways clear
- Removing aquatic weeds, vegetation, and debris from waterways and stormwater assets
- Grass cutting and vegetation control using tools such as weed eaters
- Carrying out general labouring tasks including digging, lifting, and site maintenance
- Assisting with the upkeep of stormwater basins, rivers, and drainage systems
What you’ll need:
- Formal Qualifications or experience are not required – training will be provided.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Interest in outdoor or environmental work.
- You will need to be physically fit, health and safety focused and work well in a team as well as independently.
- A class 1 licence and an ability to drive a manual is beneficial.
All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
