Make an impact

Supporting stakeholders across the business with pragmatic and timely advice and guidance to deliver Serko's strategic objectives and comply with best practice governance requirements for NZX and ASX.

What you'll get to do

Commercial & Operational Legal Support

    • Commercial Contracting: Partner with Sales, Product, and Commercial teams across NZ, AU, and the US to draft and negotiate customer, reseller, strategic partner, and third-party technology agreements.
    • Vendor Sourcing: Collaborate with Business Leads, Security, and Tech teams to securely source products and services from trusted partners and suppliers.
    • Privacy & Regulatory Compliance: Advise on global privacy and cookie laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and AU/NZ Privacy Acts) and monitor legislative developments impacting the business.

Corporate Governance & Listed Company Matters

    • NZX & ASX Compliance: Support governance best practices, advise on Listing Rules, and assist with Annual Shareholders Meeting requirements.
    • Corporate Reporting: Contribute to Financial Reporting, ESG Reporting, and Climate-Related Disclosures.
    • Share Schemes: Advise on company share scheme mechanics, including grant and vesting structures and disclosure rules.
    • Subsidiary & Policy Management: Maintain internal policy suites, develop legal templates, and manage compliance obligations for subsidiary companies.

Legal Operations & Capability Building

    • Legal Tech & Automation: Leverage technology solutions to automate routine tasks and reduce friction in legal workflows.
    • Training: Design and deliver training to internal stakeholders on relevant legal issues.
    • External Counsel Management: Act as the primary point of contact to liaise with and manage external legal providers.

What you'll bring

  • Leveraging your experience in private practice or in-house legal roles.
  • Handling corporate law and corporate governance matters.
  • Demonstrating strong stakeholder management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Taking a proactive approach to anticipate and plan for operational needs.
  • Applying solid analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • You will need a Bachelor of Laws Degree and a current practising certificate from New Zealand.
