Our Information Technology Services team is looking for a BI Developer to join our Tamaki-makau-rau/Auckland office!

Deloitte's Information Technology Services (ITS) team is focused on delivering high-quality data, analytics, and business intelligence solutions that empower our people and clients. We design, build, and maintain reporting platforms and data models that provide meaningful insights to support decision-making across the business. We are looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to join our team and help develop scalable, secure, and high-performing reporting solutions that drive organisational capability.
Job Description
What will your typical day look like?
As a Business Intelligence Developer at Deloitte, you will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver insightful reporting and analytics solutions. In this role, you can expect to:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualisations.
- Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful reporting outputs.
- Build and optimise data models using DAX and SSAS Tabular to enable dynamic and time-intelligent reporting.
- Collaborate across teams to collect, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources.
- Manage and continuously improve the existing portfolio of reports to meet evolving business needs.
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with reporting and data pipelines.
- Write and optimise SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support reporting solutions.
- Support report deployment, maintenance, and release activities, including after-hours support when required.
- Ensure reporting solutions are secure, governed, and optimised for performance within the Deloitte environment.
- Provide support, guidance, and training to internal teams and stakeholders on reporting tools and outputs.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Enough about us, let's talk about you. You are someone with:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a full-time business intelligence, reporting, or data analytics role.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including report development, administration, and optimisation.
- Strong experience with DAX, SSAS Tabular or semantic models, and dimensional data modelling.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and troubleshooting SQL queries and procedures.
- Experience working with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with Azure data services and cloud-based reporting environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices or CI/CD automation for reporting and data pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to manage priorities, work independently when required, and contribute positively to team objectives.
