We're looking for Deli & Bakery Assistants to join our team at New World Te Atatu. If you enjoy working with fresh food, take pride in presentation, and love helping customers, this is a great opportunity to be part of a vibrant and fast-paced store.
Part-time & Full-time permanent roles
Roles commencing 3rd August 2026
One weekend day working required
Te Turanga - About the role
Prepare and pack bakery products to a high standard, ensuring quality and consistency
Price products accurately and maintain clear, correct ticketing
Merchandise displays so they are full, fresh, and visually appealing
Prepare fresh food such as sandwiches, salads, and other deli items
Cook and present hot food, including rotisserie chickens
Serve customers with friendly, knowledgeable service and product recommendations
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace at all times
Meet and exceed food safety and hygiene standards
Work collaboratively across both departments, contributing to a high-performing team

We're looking for someone who brings energy, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for fresh food and great service.
Ideally, you have experience in a kitchen, food production, deli, or bakery environment
You're confident preparing food and understand the importance of quality, consistency, and presentation
You take food safety seriously and are committed to maintaining high hygiene standards
You deliver excellent customer service and enjoy interacting with a wide range of people
You're proactive, quick to see what needs doing and get it done
You're reliable, hardworking, and take pride in doing your job well
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a busy, hands-on team
You bring a positive attitude and are happy to muck in wherever needed
