HCM Functional Consultant /Senior Consultant

Our Oracle team are looking for a HCM Functional Consultant /Senior Consultant to join our Auckland or Wellington team.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join our established and growing Oracle team and help leading organisations transform their technology and people processes.
You will help clients design and implement Oracle Cloud HCM solutions that improve workforce experience, streamline operations, and enable better decision-making. Working as part of Deloitte's leading Oracle practice in New Zealand, you will contribute to complex transformation programmes across a range of industries.
We are open to candidates with strong Oracle Cloud HCM experience, as well as high-performing HCM professionals from other leading platforms who are looking to build their Oracle capability in a consulting environment.
You will have the opportunity to work directly with senior client stakeholders, lead functional workstreams, contribute to solution design, and support the development of junior team members. Job Description
What you'll do
- Work with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into Oracle Cloud HCM solution designs.
- Lead or support functional design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities across HCM workstreams.
- Facilitate workshops and build trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
- Contribute to solution quality, delivery planning, and project outcomes across complex transformation programmes.
- Support business development, thought leadership, and practice growth initiatives where appropriate.
- Coach and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications
What you'll bring
- Experience as an HCM functional consultant, with capability across one or more areas such as Core HR, Recruiting, Performance Management, Talent Review, Succession, Learning, Compensation, Absence Management, or Time and Labour.
- Experience working with enterprise HRIS and/or workforce management platforms such as Oracle Cloud HCM, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft, Dayforce, or UKG Dimensions.
- Hands-on experience supporting or delivering HCM implementations, enhancements, upgrades, or application support.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end hire-to-retire processes and the broader HCM functional landscape.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and deliver effectively within structured project environments.
- Strong client-facing communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative working style, with the ability to support, coach, and uplift more junior team members.
- A growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning, certification, and professional development.
Desirable experience
- Experience with Oracle Cloud HCM configuration and implementation.
- Current Oracle Cloud HCM certification.
- Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment.
