Senior Structural Engineer - Hamilton

We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Hamilton team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of Property & Buildings projects.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining strong technical delivery with leadership, mentoring, and client engagement.

In this role, you'll lead the design and delivery of structural projects while supporting the growth of our capability and client relationships. You will:

  • Lead the planning, design and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to construction
  • Produce and review designs, calculations and contract documentation to a high standard
  • Manage project delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to quality expectations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contributing to business development and future opportunities
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support seamless project delivery
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers, supporting their development
  • Apply innovative thinking to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver practical outcomes
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and technical excellence

About you

You'll be a confident, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys leading projects and developing others. You will bring:

  • A BE (Structural) or equivalent (Washington Accord)
  • CPEng (Structural) or equivalent
  • 8+ years' experience within structural engineering
  • Strong design capability across a range of building structures (e.g. steel, concrete, timber)
  • Solid understanding of NZ standards, seismic design and construction practices
  • Proven experience managing projects, budgets and client relationships
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to influence and lead within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills and a client-centric mindset
