Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality Indian dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and contributing to a consistent and memorable dining experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
•Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, and rice-based meals
•Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation of all menu items
•Plan and organise food preparation in line with service requirements
•Monitor food stock levels and assist in ordering and inventory control
•Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in compliance with hygiene standards
•Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to minimise food wastage
•Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes reflecting traditional and modern Indian cuisine
•Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with food safety regulations
•Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours
•Inspect food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met.
Skills & Experience Required
•Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
•Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in Indian cuisine
•Knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and traditional recipes
•Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
•Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
•Excellent time management and organisational skills
•Team-oriented with good communication skills.
