Rocket Lab's Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers' missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together, and are critical to our success.

SENIOR PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Based onsite at Rocket Lab's Auckland, NZ facility, the Senior Production Coordinator is a hands-on role that keeps production fed with materials and follows up for updated status on open work orders, expedites deliveries where needed, and helps resolve any blockers preventing on-time delivery. The Senior Production Coordinator is a key resource within the planning function, supporting production planners to ensure the timely delivery of materials from within our global production system.As a successful Senior Production Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to level up into production planning roles when opportunities arise.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

  • On-time execution of issuing shopfloor items to production work orders.
  • Perform regular runs through assigned departments to execute shopfloor material movements and kanban circuits.
  • Ensure lineside inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and tidiness in assigned department(s).
  • Monitor order lines from inventory and escalate when at risk of late delivery.
  • Monitor perishable lineside items and consumables, escalating when at risk of blocking production.
  • Problem solving and clearing material blockers that prevent production from completing orders.
  • Support prioritization and expediting subassemblies for the vehicle integration timeline, including chasing the last mile through receipt, QC, and inventory for urgent items..
  • Work in a cross- functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
  • Support other supply chain departments and teams when required.
  • Any other duties assigned by your manager, relevant to your role.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school qualification and 4+ years of relevant production experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient using Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Working experience with ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate, manage work tasks, and provide status updates.
  • Team oriented, strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and to multiple deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to drive, or learn to drive, a forklift and any other equipment as required.

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Certificate or Diploma in relevant manufacturing, business, or supply chain field.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and operate computer, keyboard, and office equipment
  • Clear vision for reading documents, viewing computer screens, and distinguishing details at varying distances
  • Ability to professionally communicate verbally and in writing with team members, management, and external stakeholders
  • Mobility to move between buildings, attend meetings, and access different work areas
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments with moderate noise levels, dust, and fumes
