Electrical/Electronics Engineer (RF Systems)

This is a substantial project. Are you a talented problem solver? Drawing from past experience you will ensure complex electrical and RF products meet their requirements as well as considering design for manufacture. You will be building and testing electrical and RF components for our next generation spaceplane.

You will:

  • Support development of space-bound RF and electrical systems
  • Develop electrical schematics, board layouts, and embedded firmware for high performance embedded avionics systems
  • Develop and debug RF equipment for ground and air segments
  • Support the avionics and other teams to produce high quality embedded systems by providing resource to review designs and share your knowledge with the wider team
  • Develop and review high quality test plans, procedures, and documentation
  • Work in close coordination with the systems engineering, software, and other teams
  • Work to establish, maintain, and improve upon on processes and capabilities.

Requirements

You will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years professional electronics development experience
  • Experience working in RF in link budget analysis, antenna selection and evaluation, and integrating and debugging RF systems
  • Experience designing and delivering RF products, including assessing requirements, creating and testing prototypes, and integrating final products
  • Experience in testing and validating electrical and RF equipment
  • Awareness and experience with quality control systems
  • Experience working with and directing sub-contractors/ suppliers
  • Excellent communication, organisational and reporting skills
  • A positive, driven attitude with a team collaborative approach

Additional desired proven skills and experience in:

  • RF Experience, particularly S-Band
  • Familiarity with ASTM F3298 and ECSS standards
  • Experience using ECAD software
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Experience with flight software and avionics/RF systems development for UAVs, rockets, or other spacecraft
  • Experience in analogue sensing/electronics
  • Experience in thermal/environmental testing and qualification
