Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure outstanding guest service from check-in to departure
  • Manage guest enquiries, bookings, and complaint resolution
  • Oversee daily operations including reservations, billing, and reporting
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety
  • Support staff training, coaching, and performance
  • Assist with administrative tasks and operational coordination
  • Step in for after-hours management or overnight stays when required
  • Promote local attractions and enhance guest experiences

What We're Looking For

  • Passion for customer service and hospitality
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role (hotel, restaurant, or similar)
  • Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to remain professional under pressure and adapt to seasonal pace changes
  • High attention to detail and personal presentation
  • Confidence working independently and making decisions
  • A hands-on, team-focused attitude

Technical skills:

  • Experience with hotel/property management systems (RMS advantageous)
  • Familiarity with POS systems and Online Travel Agents (OTAs)
  • Basic financial reporting knowledge

Bonus (not essential):

  • Qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, or Hotel Management
  • First Aid Certificate & Manager's Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Important Requirements

  • Due to the seasonal nature of the business:
  • Availability is required over Christmas and New Year (including public holidays)
  • Regular weekend work (typically one day per weekend)
  • Limited annual leave during peak season (Dec-March)
  • Flexibility to support after-hours operations when needed

Why Join Us?

  • Work in one of New Zealand's most beautiful coastal destinations
  • Be part of a supportive and close-knit team
  • Gain valuable leadership experience in a dynamic hospitality environment
