The University of Otago, Wellington (UOW) provides health research and teaching in New Zealand's capital city.

It enjoys collaborative relationships with District Health Boards, local health service providers, multiple central and local government agencies such as the Ministry of Health and Wellington City Council as well as other tertiary education providers such as Massey and Victoria University. The role/Te mahi

As a Sleep Technician, you will provide technical support to WellSleep for home sleep tests, therapy initiation and associated tasks. The role will involve:
Attaching sleep monitoring equipment to patients and educating them on the use of the equipment.
Initiation of PAP therapy in an outpatient setting and follow-up.
Preparation of sleep equipment in terms of inventory and setup.
Other related tasks as required (e.g. booking of patients, report finalising).

We are looking for candidates with:
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Customer service experience.
Evidence of a successful teamwork approach in the workplace.
Excellent computer skills.
Technical skills in terms of monitoring equipment or an ability to learn this.
Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
An interest in health services provision.
Health workplace experience.
Clinical / patient experience.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position based at the Bowen Hospital in Wellington. Hours of work are determined by a roster set in advance which could include either a day, evening or night shifts.

The appointment range for this role is $63,508 to $68,185 per annum. Top of the range is $73,640.
