Registered Nurse

Permanent, full-time role working Monday - Friday in Whanganui
An RN role with a difference - supporting both mental and physical health in the community

Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a unique, community based mental health role?

Do you want to work holistically, build strong community connections, and make a meaningful difference to both the mental and physical wellbeing of our community?

Pathways Whanganui is seeking a Registered Nurse who is passionate about mental health and addictions recovery, and improving physical health outcomes for tangata whai ora and their whanau.

Join our newly formed Clinical Specialist Service, and be well supported working an experienced multidisciplinary team that includes a Social Worker, an AOD Practioner and a Team Coach who is an Occupational Therapist.

Alongside supporting mental health and addiction recovery, this role has a significant phsycial health component. You'll work closely with tangata whai ora, whanau, kaimahi and other community and clinical partners to understand and manage physical health needs - such as diabetes, heart health, nutrition, smoking harm reduction and older adults health.

Day-to-day, you will:
-Complete comprehensive nursing and clinical assessments
-Manage a 1:1 caseload, and plan and faciliate wellbeing groups
-Develop care and goal plans, and assess and manage risk and safety
-Build strong relationships with whanau, community partners and other health professionals
-Advocate for tangata whai ora and their whanau
-Provide education and guidance to our support work kaimahi
-Work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
-Engage in team hui and planning, coaching, cultural and clinical supervision and ongoing professional development

This is a permanent, full-time position. You will be working Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm. Based at Park Place in Whanganui, you will work across all services within the Whanganui region.

About You | Mou:
We're looking for a Registered Nurse who is compassionate, adaptable and able to think outside the box. You are passionate about mental health and wellbeing for our community and bring your clinical expertise with a genuine desire to make a real impact.

Ideally, you'll have:
Registration as a Registered Nurse within the Nursing Council of New Zealand
Experience and confidence in supporting complex mental and physical health needs
Strong assessment, support planning and risk management skills
Skills in delivering 1:1 and group evidence-based interventions
A role model for wellbeing and professional excellence
A full, clean driver's licence
