Job Description

  • Permanent, Full-time | Ponsonby location (3 days in the office and 2 from home)
  • Travel to Australia may be required at certain stages of the project lifecycle

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead projects that make a real difference to organisations within the UP Education group. You'll bring people together, keep projects on track, manage challenges as they arise, and ensure successful delivery from beginning to end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery & Governance: Lead end-to-end project delivery by defining scope, delivery approaches, governance frameworks, and plans to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget

  • Team & Delivery Management: Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, driving accountability, prioritisation, and effective communication to maintain delivery momentum

  • Risk, Issue & Change: Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and scope changes, implementing mitigation strategies and timely escalation where require

  • Change Management: Develop and execute change management activities to support stakeholder adoption, operational readiness, and successful transition to business-as-usual

  • Stakeholder & Communication Management: Build strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors, providing transparent reporting and ensuring alignment, engagement, and informed decision-making throughout delivery

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years + experience delivering IT projects and managing multiple priorities
  • Strong knowledge of business systems and project delivery methodologies
  • Excellent stakeholder, vendor, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and manage project plans, schedules, and dependencies
  • Relevant project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI-ACP, CSM, AgilePM)

Desirable

  • Experience within the Australian and/or New Zealand education sector
  • Familiarity with SMS, LMS and CRM platforms, and related integrations
  • Exposure to vendor management, business case development, and benefits tracking
