About the job:
We’re looking for a Trainee Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team in Whangamata Fixed-Term!
No treatment plant experience needed! This fixed-term Trainee Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator role is a great opportunity to learn new skills and gain practical experience.
The role involves:
- Learning to operate and maintain wastewater treatment plants to support safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
- Assisting with routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and compliance activities under supervision.
- Supporting sampling, testing, and reporting in line with regulatory and consent requirements.
- Building knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality practices, and contributing to a safe working environment.
What you’ll need:
- A willingness to learn and take on new skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Organised with a strong attention to detail and great problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to health and safety, and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
