As our Compliance & Audit Manager, you’ll play a critical role in shaping that future — providing independent oversight, challenging the status quo, and partnering with the business to lift standards across the board.

The Opportunity

This is a true Line 2 role, sitting within our Legal & Compliance team — focused on oversight, assurance, and continuous improvement.

You’ll be working across the business to:

• Assess how well controls are operating
• Identify risks and gaps before they become issues
• Provide clear, practical insights to leaders
• Help shape and evolve our compliance frameworks

It’s a role with real visibility and influence, including regular engagement with senior leaders and governance committees.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be driving assurance and partnering with the business, including:

• Leading line 2 compliance audits and monitoring across regulated activities
• Reviewing processes, identifying risks, and challenging the effectiveness of controls
• Reporting insights and findings to leadership and governance
• Providing practical advice on projects, products, and operational change
• Building trusted relationships across the business and with regulators
• Acting as privacy and data protection officer, adding further depth to the role.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from people who bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in compliance, audit, or risk within financial services
• Strong understanding of the NZ regulatory environment, ideally financial advice
• A sharp eye for detail — able to spot risks, trends, and systemic issues
• Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presenting to senior team members
• Confidence to challenge and influence across all levels of the business

Backgrounds we often see succeed in this role include:

• Insurance or insurance broking
• Broader financial services (banking, wealth, advisory)
• Big 4 or consultancy with audit/risk/compliance exposure
