Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a dynamic portfolio across Hawkes Bay.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, contract performance, and safe delivery across all facilities. A strong focus of this role is the ability to build and maintain deep commercial and client relationships, helping to drive contract growth, service excellence, and long-term partnership value.
The ideal candidate is commercially astute, customer-centric, proactive, and confident navigating fast-paced environments while consistently delivering high standards of service and communication.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of all FM services across multiple sites, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational performance exceed expectations.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for all FM matters.
Identify and pursue opportunities for contract growth, service improvements, and commercial optimisation.
Procure, coordinate, and manage contractors to meet KPIs, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Develop and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and accurate forecasting.
Support refurbishments, store openings, and site upgrades, ensuring maintainability is embedded in design and delivery.
Oversee emergency response planning, incident management, and business continuity processes.
Monitor performance data, CMMS accuracy, and reporting to support informed decision-making.
Drive continuous improvement through proactive issue resolution and long-term solutions.

Education, Experience & Skills
Essential
Previous experience in facilities management, building services, or a related technical field.
Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and manage commercial expectations.
Proven skill in contractor management, negotiation, and vendor performance oversight.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving ability with sound judgement under pressure.
Experience managing budgets, CAPEX/OPEX forecasting, and financial performance.
Proficiency with CMMS systems, reporting tools, and general digital literacy.
Full New Zealand driver licence.
Desirable
Trade, engineering, or FM qualification.
Experience in retail, hospitality, or multi-site commercial portfolio management.
Background supporting refurbishments, new store openings, or capital project delivery.

Workplace Flexibility
This role is primarily on-site at Napier. Flexibility may be available after key onboarding and performance milestones are achieved.
