Korero mo te turanga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for two International Admissions Officers to Te Kahupapa ki Tai - International Office on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • From the point of receipt, undertake the effective and efficient processing of applications and answering enquiries in accordance with Wellington University International service standards of admission.
  • Undertake effective and efficient processing of a portfolio or allocated workload including data verification and assessment and ensuring all required documentation has been provided.
  • Make an admissions decision following agreed business process, generate and issue Offers of Place.
  • Consult the Senior International Admissions Officer or escalate complex applications to the Manager, International Admissions as appropriate.
  • Undertake effective and efficient processing of a portfolio or allocated workload including data verification and assessment and ensuring all required documentation has been provided.
  • Build the knowledge of international qualification equivalence, source markets education systems and other areas of expertise required to exercise fair assessment on international applications.

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent administration and policy compliance.

Key requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or comparable experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstratable work experience in admissions and enrolment of international students with an education provider.
  • Well-developed organisational abilities, demonstrating initiative in work planning activities and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines, often with competing demands, in a complex large organisation.
  • Demonstratable experience in the provision of timely and accurate advice to a range of customers and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, relationship building and communication skills to enable working with a diverse range of people and cultures, and at a variety of levels.
  • Sound written communication skills.
