About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Electrical Trade Assistant to join our team in Otago. This role offers an excellent mix of variety and steady workflow, assisting our qualified tradespeople with installations, maintenance, and repairs across both commercial developments and residential sites. From high-end residential fit-outs to commercial plant maintenance, you will play a crucial role in supporting the team to ensure all electrical systems are safe, efficient, and up to code. This is a great opportunity for a proactive individual looking to gain hands-on experience, expand their skills, and contribute to a high-performing technical team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and telecommunications systems.
• Carries out basic electrical and telecommunications tasks under the guidance of trades workers.
• Assists in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical and telecommunications systems.
• Prepares materials and tools for electrical and telecommunications installations.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or at least a Level 4 in a relevant qualification.
• A genuine interest in the electrical trade with a strong willingness to learn and take direction.
• Basic understanding of hand and power tools, circuits, and electrical safety.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
• High attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Reliable, punctual, and a "safety first" attitude.
