Inland Revenue's Process Risk function plays a key role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of legislative and non-legislative change. We identify and assess process risks, and design controls that support sound decision-making, protect customer and organisational outcomes, and enable continuous improvement.
As a Domain Specialist L2, you will be supporting the Integrated Planning and Risk team focused on providing specialised risk advice and guidance to manage and strengthen IR's risk management processes, frameworks and culture.
Working within IR's Risk Management Framework (aligned to ISO 31000 principles), you will contribute to the development and maintenance of process risk bowtie modelling, including the identification of risks, triggers, and controls, and recommending improvements through practical and sustainable solutions.
In this role you will:
Apply risk management practices to identify, assess, and model process risks and controls
Work closely across PD&D, CCS & other key business areas to embed, maintain, and monitor effective risk and control environments
Provide expert risk advice and analysis to support risk-based decision-making and ensure appropriate control environments
Maintain and develop process risk bowtie modelling in ARIS
Support internal and external audit activities relating to process controls
Contribute to the continuous improvement and consistency of process risk modelling and practices

To be successful in this role you will have:
Practical experience applying a risk management framework
Curiosity and willingness to investigate and verify information
Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and advise across diverse groups and roles
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Experience with common risk tools, ARIS, JIRA and Microsoft Power Apps would be desirable
Knowledge of Inland Revenue's tax and social policy products, and/or IR systems and processes, would be advantageous
