Your Role:

Reporting to the Herd Test Service Manager, you'll play a key role within the Operations & Service Group. This role focuses on ensuring the reliable operation of herd testing and animal health instrumentation through high-quality servicing and maintenance. You'll work to established maintenance plans and quality standards, always prioritising safety and efficiency. Please note this role will have a degree of shift work involved. Reliable transport to get to and from work outside of public transport hours, may be required.

Your Key Focus:

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and methodically, including occasional after-hours work

  • Service instrumentation in line with maintenance programmes and quality system requirements

  • Conduct routine inspections of plant and equipment, working closely with operators and supervisors

  • Accurately record and report all servicing activities in line with laboratory procedures

  • Identify and act on non-conformances, completing reports promptly

  • Provide technical advice, support, and guidance to operational teams

  • Support technicians across other Testlink facilities

  • Maintain compliance with all health and safety requirements

  • Manage spare parts to support forecast maintenance needs

  • Liaise daily with milk testing and animal health supervisors

  • Support the Service Manager and Laboratory Manager to ensure smooth operations

Your Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience servicing analytical and laboratory equipment.

  • Ability to complete full equipment overhauls to manufacturer standards

  • Strong computer literacy, including fault-finding using PC-based service software and networks

  • Trade qualification with a tertiary engineering certificate (or equivalent experience)

  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards

  • Experience with preventative maintenance programmes and accurate data recording

  • Familiarity with supply and spare parts logistics

  • Ability to work independently and prioritise effectively

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Excellent time management
