Reservations Group Coordinator - Full Time
(Please note that you must already have valid work rights in New Zealand to be considered for this role)
We are looking for a full time Reservations Groups Coordinator to join our Sales & Marketing team at Cordis, Auckland. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, staying organised and delivering excellent service behind the scenes. In this role, you will be the key contact for group reservations, ensuring bookings are managed accurately, communication is clear, and every group experience is seamless from enquiry through to arrival. You will work closely with our Sales, Revenue, Front Office, Banquets and wider hotel teams to support group business and help create memorable guest experiences in New Zealand's largest hotel.
What you'll be doing
- Managing group reservations accurately and in a timely manner
- Acting as the central contact for group booking enquiries and updates
- Coordinating group room blocks, allocations, pick-up, wash and booking details
- Liaising with clients and internal departments to ensure all group requirements are clearly communicated
- Preparing and maintaining accurate booking records, reports and correspondence
- Supporting the Revenue team with group-related updates, trends and business information
- Completing group balancing, billing checks and open folio management
- Working closely with Sales and other departments to support revenue opportunities
- Cross-selling hotel services and promoting what Cordis, Auckland has to offer
- Attending relevant meetings and briefings to ensure group details are communicated clearly
- Ensuring the hotel's credit policy and reservation standards are followed
- Delivering warm, professional and heartfelt service to clients, guests and colleagues
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in reservations, front office, guest services, sales coordination or a similar hotel role
- Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- A professional and friendly phone and email manner
- The ability to stay organised and manage multiple bookings, deadlines and priorities
- A proactive approach with a willingness to take initiative
- Strong computer skills and confidence learning hotel systems
- A good understanding of hotel operations, guest service and revenue opportunities
- The ability to build positive relationships with clients and internal teams
- A calm, patient and solutions-focused approach when working under pressure
- A team-focused attitude and willingness to support the wider hotel operation
- Must be flexible to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays where required
