This role sits within our Risk Consulting team in Auckland, supporting work with large corporate and government clients to help them make more informed decisions about risk and insurance.

What you’ll be doing

You won’t be ticking boxes or following a script — instead, you’ll be supporting the delivery of consulting work by:

• Assisting with breaking down complex business problems
• Supporting risk analysis and modelling activities
• Helping translate data into insights that inform decision-making
• Contributing to the development and implementation of risk and insurance solutions

Key responsibilities

Working alongside a highly experienced team, you’ll support consulting projects where we:

• Analyse and quantify organisational risk exposure
• Build models to understand potential financial impacts and losses
• Develop insights that inform insurance strategy and risk financing decisions
• Support the implementation of practical, effective risk solutions for clients

What we’re looking for

You might come from a background in analytics, finance, engineering, or a similar problem-solving environment.

Think analytically and solve problems

• You can break down problems into clear, logical steps
• You enjoy working with data to uncover insights

Are commercially curious

• You’re interested in how businesses operate and manage risk
• You’re keen to connect analysis to real-world outcomes

Have strong technical foundations

• Experience with tools like Excel, Python, SQL or similar
• Comfortable working with data and quantitative analysis

Communicate clearly

• Able to explain insights in a simple, meaningful way
• Confident working with team members and stakeholders

Bring curiosity and drive

• Eager to learn and build your expertise
• Open to feedback and keen to develop

Experience & background

We’re typically looking for:

• Early career experience in an analytical or commercial role
• A degree in a relevant field (e.g. finance, economics, engineering, maths, science or similar)
