As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Assistant Service Manager to help lead our workshop team and deliver outstanding results.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside the Service Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of our workshop by:

• Leading and supporting our Foreman team to maximise productivity and efficiency.

• Coordinating workshop scheduling, labour allocation and workflow.

• Monitoring job progress and keeping our Service Advisors informed.

• Preparing estimates and quotations for customers.

• Ensuring job cards are accurate and complete for invoicing and warranty claims.

• Investigating rework, identifying root causes and implementing improvements.

• Monitoring productivity, efficiency and workshop performance metrics.

• Maintaining workshop equipment, tools and presentation standards.

• Supporting staff development through coaching and training.

• Building strong relationships with customers and providing exceptional service.

• Acting as Service Manager when required.

About you

You'll be someone who enjoys leading from the front and creating a positive, high-performing team culture.

You'll bring:

• Heavy Diesel Mechanical qualification.

• Current NZ Class 4 driver's licence (clean record preferred).

• At least 5 years' experience as a Heavy Automotive Technician or proven workshop leadership experience.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• A practical, solutions-focused approach.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
