Citycare Property will soon partner with the New Zealand Defence Force Facilities Management Services to provide essential facilities, maintenance, and infrastructure services across camps and bases throughout Aotearoa.

Join us in the role of Team Leader Trades, Whenuapai Air Base to support the environments that enable NZDF personnel to focus on protecting and serving New Zealand communities.

RNZAF Base Auckland is located in Whenuapai, northwest of Auckland, and is the northernmost operational Air Force base, positioned on the upper western reaches of the Waitemata Harbour.

What You’ll Be Doing | Nga Kawenga Takohanga

  • Leading and motivating your team, ensuring services and obligations are met and align with contractual requirements, business strategy and values.
  • Leading and supervising construction trades team members and subcontractors to deliver maintenance and project works safely and effectively.
  • Supporting delivery of works under construction and maintenance contracts, including NZS 3910, NZS 3915 and NZS 3916.
  • Ensuring works complies with health & safety, environmental, security, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintaining regular and professional communication with stakeholders, asset users, and Defence Estate Infrastructure (DEI).

What We’re Looking For| A Matou e Rapu Ana:

  • Relevant trade qualification and current practising licence where required.
  • Experience working in a construction or trades environment.
  • Experience supervising or leading small teams on site Including managing subcontractors.
  • General capability using standard business systems.
  • Working knowledge of basic Health and Safety and site compliance requirements.
  • Absolute alignment with Citycare Property values.
  • The legal right to work in Aotearoa, ability to pass a drug and alcohol test and willingness to consent to a Criminal Record Check
  • Ability to meet NZDF specific security requirements

This opportunity is subject to final negotiations and a contract being signed with NZDF – this is underway and expected to be completed before this recruitment process concludes.
