Water Supervisor Opportunity in Christchurch!
About the job:
As a Water Supervisor, you’ll play a critical part in leading our reticulation crews and making sure our operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You’ll be the person your team looks to for direction, clarity, and support – helping them do their best work, every day.
You will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and scheduling plant, materials, subcontractors, and staff to keep our work programmes moving.
- Ensuring all scheduled maintenance is delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Allocating plant and equipment to projects in a cost-effective and efficient way.
- Making sure every team member clearly understands client expectations and the standards we uphold.
This is a hands-on leadership role, where your influence directly supports the delivery of resilient, reliable water services for the Christchurch community.
What you’ll need:
We’re looking for someone with strong experience, grounded in practical leadership and a commitment to quality and safety.
- 5+ years’ experience in the Water Construction or Maintenance Industry.
- A NZQU Water Reticulation Level 4 qualification, or you’re actively working towards achieving it.
- A proven ability to lead, coach, and support staff to perform at their best.
- A full class 1 licence (class 2 is desirable).
- STMS qualification (advantageous but not essential).
All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
