About the role:
You are an experienced mechanical engineer, ideally with some background in injection moulded plastics, and are looking to take your career to the next level with challenging, fast paced work in a company that makes a difference.

The New Zealand site focuses on new products to tap into new markets and keep up with the changing face of existing ones, so you will face significant technical challenges and aggressive schedules.
You will be responsible for:
- Taking parts and assemblies from concept to production - Design, prototype, produce drawings, evaluate parts, collaboration with suppliers and contract manufacturing
- Planning and executing the engineering and verification testing of parts and finished products
- Investigating, analysing and resolving issues and failures of products in development, and contribute to these activities for existing products
- Documenting your work - design, testing and analysis
- Supporting other teams with mechanical expertise - sourcing, manufacturing, reliability and quality
- Managing global suppliers to produce parts and assemblies on schedule
Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years' experience in design including Injection Moulding, Sheet metal, and CNC Machining processes
- Experience with both investigative and verification testing
To be successful, you will demonstrate your ability to:
- Design parts and assemblies quickly and with good modelling practices
- Produce high quality and easily read drawings
- Perform, interpret, and record the results of testing
- Complete tasks on schedule and show initiative
To stand out, you will showcase some of the following:
- Experience with Plastics, especially injection moulding
- Experience with Solidworks, especially in a PDM environment
- Leading or mentoring a team of engineers
- Designing for reliable products (up to 25 years lifetime)
- Connectors or power electronics
- Top-down modelling strategies such as Master Modelling
- Applying statistical analysis methods and principles in an engineering context
