Our client is a busy and growing recycling company with a large and diverse fleet of trucks, machinery, and company vehicles. This is a great opportunity for a skilled, hands-on diesel mechanic who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working with a well-used commercial fleet.
We are looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join the team and take ownership of keeping the fleet operating safely, reliably, and with minimal downtime.

About the Role
You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of fleet equipment, including:
- Heavy and light trucks
- Loaders and forklifts when required
- Truck body repairs and general mechanical upkeep
Key Responsibilities
- Full servicing and preventative maintenance of the company fleet
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective, timely repairs
- Responding to breakdowns, including after-hours support when required
- Light engineering, fabrication, and welding work as needed
- Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records
- Supporting improvements in fleet reliability, safety, and cost efficiency
- General workshop support and additional tasks as required
- A qualified and experienced mechanic with strong heavy and light vehicle background
- Confident diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working across mixed fleets and commercial vehicles
- Welding and light fabrication ability
- Hydraulics experience is highly desirable
- A strong track record with references we can verify
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently
- A current Class 2 licence, and Class 4 preferred or willingness to obtain
- Permanent, full-time position
- Stable role within a well-equipped Penrose workshop
- Varied workload across a large and active fleet
