We're looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager who is passionate about food, people, and creating a welcoming dining experience for our residents and wider village community.
About the Role
This is a practical, all-round leadership role where you'll be right in the action, cooking, leading, and shaping the daily kitchen experience.
You will:
- Lead the day-to-day kitchen and cafe operations
- Cook and prepare fresh, nutritious meals daily
- Develop seasonal menus and daily specials
- Manage stock, control costs, and minimise waste
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
- Support and guide a small team to deliver consistent, high-quality service
- Create a warm, positive environment for residents, whanau, and visitors

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:
- Experience managing or leading in a kitchen environment
- A recognised cookery qualification (Level 4 or above preferred)
- Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Confidence working hands-on in a fast-paced setting
- Strong organisation and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of diverse dietary needs
- A commitment to cultural respect and working in a diverse community
