Test Analyst
Serato is one of the world leaders in audio software for professional DJs, producers and musicians.
World renowned artists such as Fatboy Slim, A-Trak, Snoop Dogg, and DJ Snake love our products and use them on a regular basis.
We are based in central Auckland and are currently looking for a special candidate to join our team as a Test Analyst .
A test role within Serato involves working in a small agile team to help design and implement our core products.
In this role you will work with the team to help clarify and improve the design of changes and enhancements to our key products such as Serato DJ and Serato Studio. As part of a cross-functional team, you will be responsible for ensuring features are developed in accordance with requirements, identifying and reporting defects as well as contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Testing at Serato means working in a small, agile, cross-functional team to help design and deliver our core products. You'll help shape and refine changes to our flagship products and see them through from idea to release.
Day to day, you will:
- Help clarify requirements and improve the design of new features and enhancements
- Ensure features are built to requirements and genuinely work for our users
- Identify, reproduce and clearly report defects
- Make the most of modern tooling, including AI-assisted workflows to test smarter and faster
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience as a DJ or music producer
- Understanding of testing methods and approaches
- Familiarity with agentic / AI-assisted development workflows, or genuine enthusiasm to learn them
- Technical mindset (scripting, tinkering, audio engineering etc..)
Plus these:
- Experience contributing to a high-performing team, ideally in a commercial setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for problem-solving, with a logical, methodical approach and strong critical thinking
- A customer-focused mindset, attuned to the varied needs of DJs and producers
- Naturally curious, a fast learner, and keen to grow your skills and take on more over time
And as many of these as possible:
- Experience with software development more broadly - automated testing, scripting or programming
- Experience with hardware, electronics, MIDI or audio processing
- A relevant degree and/or certification - e.g. audio engineering, software, sound design or music
- A demonstrated commitment to testing excellence
- A musical background, including some music theory
