Mo tenei turanga mahi (About the position)
We're looking for a Lead Instrument and Electricial Technician to bring some good energy to our I&E Field Operations team. This is a fantastic role for someone who is looking for a mix of office and field based mahi, where you'll interact with a range of stakeholders and working on assets of national significance.
You can expect to:
- Provide people and technicial leadership to apprentices, trainees and experienced technicians.
- Undertake high quality I&E maintenance services for our gas transmission network, gas storage facility and 3rd party sites ensuring reliability, safety, and integrity.
- Assist the Manager, Instrument & Electrical Operations with effective management, continuous improvement and operational maintenance, and project activities.
- Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe and efficient I&E Operations, maintenance, and project field delivery.
- Participate in the 24/7 On-Call roster and emergency response.
- Provide first response to emergency situations.
- Ensure electrical work is completed in line with relevant standard and regulations via maintaining and ensuring compliance with a current Electrical Safety Manual (Maintenance).
This role works as part of a wider maintenance team working across the motu. You'll spend time in the office as well as in the field, either independently or as part of a small field team (employees and contractors). Your field work will mostly cover Taranaki and the lower North Island, although you may be called upon to support our Northern team from time to time.
Qualifications

As well as being a team member who brings a 'can do' attitude and good energy to everything you do, you will have at least 5 years solid experience covering both I&E maintenance and people leadership.
It's a given that you'll be safety focused, having detailed working knowledge of New Zealand Electrical regulations and standards, along with your Instrumentation and your electrical practising license with the hazardous area endorsement.
You'll be confident in the Microsoft Office suite, as well as using CMMS (we use Maximo). As a strong communicator, you'll be able to develop and maintain effecitve working relationships across a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
