Head of Community

Full-Time | Remote

Sick of community roles that revolve around posting content, replying to comments, and chasing engagement metrics?

Do you want to build something that genuinely changes people's lives?

At Profitable Tradie, our community isn't a marketing channel. It's where trade business owners come when things get tough. It's where they ask for help, have their thinking challenged, receive honest feedback, and celebrate the wins that come from doing the work.

We're looking for someone to lead that community.

Someone who can coach, challenge, facilitate meaningful conversations, and create an environment where members don't just consume content-they help each other succeed.

If you believe the strongest communities aren't built through algorithms or engagement hacks, but through trust, accountability, and shared success, this role could be perfect for you.

Who We Are

Profitable Tradie is a fast-growing coaching and consulting company helping plumbing, electrical, and other trade business owners throughout New Zealand, Australia, and North America.

Our mission is simple: Turn great tradespeople into great business owners.

Our community is one of the biggest reasons our clients achieve incredible results. It's where members learn, share, challenge each other, celebrate wins, and receive real feedback from people who understand exactly what they're going through.

As our membership continues to grow, we're looking for someone to take ownership of this experience and help build a world-class community that members couldn't imagine being without.

This isn't a community management role.

It's a leadership position for someone who understands coaching, knows how to facilitate meaningful conversations, and can create an environment where members stay engaged, accountable, and committed to improving their businesses.

What You'll Be Doing

We're looking for a Head of Community who will own the health, engagement, and long-term success of our member community.

In this role you'll:

  • Create an engaged, high-performing community where members consistently show up, participate, and support one another

  • Become the trusted voice inside our member Facebook groups, creating conversations that drive action and accountability

  • Welcome new members and establish community rituals that encourage long-term engagement

  • Review member work including sales letters, job ads, pricing documents, sales scripts, marketing campaigns, and operational documents

  • Provide expert feedback while encouraging meaningful peer-to-peer coaching and collaboration

  • Run multiple live Q&A coaching sessions each week, facilitating discussions that deliver practical outcomes

  • Coach members through real business challenges while ensuring advice aligns with their existing coaching plans

  • Work closely with our coaching team to ensure members receive consistent guidance and support

  • Identify members who may be disengaging and proactively reconnect them before they lose momentum

  • Celebrate member wins and success stories that inspire the wider community

  • Support our coaching inbox by providing timely, high-quality responses that move members forward

  • Build systems that continually improve engagement, member experience, and community health as we grow

Your success won't be measured by how many comments you reply to.

It will be measured by the strength of the community you build, the conversations you create, the members you retain, and the number of business owners who become better because they were part of it.

Who You Are

We're looking for someone who naturally builds trust, challenges people with care, and creates communities where people genuinely want to contribute.

You'll succeed in this role if you:

  • Have coaching experience and know how to challenge people while making them feel supported

  • Have strong business knowledge across sales, marketing, pricing, recruitment, operations, or running successful trade businesses

  • Can confidently review business documents and provide practical, actionable feedback

  • Are an excellent facilitator who can confidently lead live group coaching sessions

  • Know when to coach, when to challenge, and when to involve another member of the coaching team

  • Have exceptional written communication skills

  • Think in systems and long-term member experience rather than simply reacting to comments

  • Hold high standards while creating an environment where people feel comfortable asking for help

  • Take ownership and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment

Experience in business coaching, trades, service businesses, or membership communities will be highly regarded.

This role isn't for someone who simply wants to manage a Facebook group. It's for someone who wants to build a community that genuinely changes businesses and lives.

Why Join Us?

At Profitable Tradie:

  • You'll build one of the strongest business communities in the trades industry

  • You'll directly influence member success, engagement, retention, and business outcomes

  • You'll work alongside an experienced coaching and leadership team

  • You'll have the freedom to improve systems, introduce new ideas, and shape the future of our community

  • You'll join a high-performance culture where learning, ownership, and continuous improvement are expected

  • You'll work with ambitious business owners who genuinely want to grow

  • You'll be part of a team that's changing the lives of thousands of trade business owners across New Zealand, Australia, and North America
