Job Overview\n

We are seeking to appoint General Radiologists to work up to 40 hours per week. Available positions are based in the Bay of Plenty at either Tauranga or Whakatāne Hospital.

\n

Special interest in Paediatric and/or Chest imaging would be beneficial, though all areas of subspecialty interest would be considered.

\nOur Departments\n

The Tauranga Radiology department comprises four general rooms (includes one room in the Emergency Department), two Toshiba CT scanners, five colour doppler ultrasound machines, a Siemens fluoroscopy suite, and a private MRI facility operational on-site.

\n

The Whakatāne radiology department comprises two general rooms, a Toshiba Prime CT scanner and two colour doppler ultrasound machines.

\nTeam and Workload\n

The appointee joins a medical staff of 21 other Radiologists and 6 Registrars. The radiology services workload comprises general radiology, ultrasound, MDCT, angiography and a range of interventional procedures. An on‑call component provides a 24‑hour acute service with overnight reporting via teleradiology.

\n

Required: Safety checks under the Children’s Act due to contact with children and Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty child‑protection commitment.

\nQualifications\n

Applicants must be eligible for registration as a Specialist Diagnostic Radiologist with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

\n
