Job Description
Acting as a trusted sounding board, the role will provide candid, strategic and commercially grounded guidance on talent, organisational structure, and workplace culture to ensure sustainable high performance. Further, the role will identify talent across the portfolios and surface succession risks early to protect leadership continuity.SBPs must work closely with senior People & Assurance leaders — including the Manager People Services, Manager Culture & Capability, and Manager People Operations & Intelligence, to deliver integrated, aligned and end-to-end people outcomes across the People and Assurance function.**Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring** You are a senior strategic partner practitioner who thrives on working alongside senior leaders in complex environments. You bring strong judgement, a clear understanding of organisational strategy, a proactive forward-looking approach to shaping outcomes.You are a credible senior operator with distinct executive presence, known for your ability to influence, respectfully challenge and advise at the highest levels.
You build trust quickly and provide candid, well-informed guidance that lifts leadership performance and strengthens organisational outcomes.**Here’s what you will bring to the role:** • Proven track record of strategic business partnering at the executive level within large, complex organisations including influencing enterprise strategy and structural change outcomes • Extensive experience in senior-level people partnering roles, preferred experience in people leadership • Skilled in executive coaching and lifting leadership performance • Solid understanding of NZ employment frameworks, industrial and employment relations risk and public-sector accountability with the ability to work in alignment with People Services on complex employment matters • Highly developed ability to anticipate, translate and influence outcomes from emerging opportunities and risk • Experience ensuring leaders maintain fair, lawful, and consistent people practices aligned to organisational frameworks and policy expectations • Experience providing constructive, respectful challenge and strategic guidance in high-pressure situations • Strong business and commercial acumen, ability to navigate complexity and understand and communicate organisational trade-offs and impacts.
