Job Description
Seeking Expressions of Interest from Orthopaedic Spinal Consultants for a regional role at Middlemore Hospital (acute care) and the nearby Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit (ASRU) in Ōtara. These two facilities comprise one of the three main supra-regional spinal injury services in NewZealand and cater to the northern half of the North Island.

Middlemore Hospital’s orthopaedic surgeons are highly regarded for expertise in handling complex, high‑volume cases, utilising advanced technology, and leading sub‑specialty care in NewZealand. As part of Counties Manukau Health, the department is a major internationally recognised centre for orthopaedics and spinal injury, specialising in complex care, sub‑speciality focus, trauma leadership and regional spinal care.
Qualifications- Highly qualified, vocationally registered orthopaedic surgeon
- Fellowship‑level training in spinal surgery
- Experience in adult degenerative, deformity, metastatic disease and primary tumour procedures preferred
The successful candidate will provide spine trauma and elective spine procedures to meet the department’s current needs.
