About the Role

Waikato Hospital is one of the largest tertiary hospitals in the country, and we are seeking an experienced Medical Imaging Technologist to join our friendly, dedicated team. We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Medical Radiation Technologist to become a key member of our CT team. The role involves providing high‑quality diagnostic imaging in a timely manner and delivering safe, respectful, effective and efficient patient care and optimal service delivery.

The radiology department has a staff of approximately 130 and provides a full range of imaging modalities including CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, vascular/interventional radiology, and conventional X‑ray. This is a permanent, full‑time position working 40 hours per week across a variety of shifts, on a 24‑hour roster, and will involve working on call duties, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality diagnostic imaging in a timely manner
  • Deliver safe, respectful, effective and efficient patient care and optimal service delivery
  • Participate in a rotating shift roster
  • Uphold and meet registration and regulatory CPD requirements
  • Work as an effective team player and promote a team culture that fosters collaborative working relationships
Requirements
  • Have a full registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board with a general scope of practice and current practising certificate
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • A commitment to improving service performance
