Key Responsibilities- Provide quality clinical services to tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau within Te Whatu Ora Waikato boundaries.
- As a clinical expert, ensure that the appropriate and current knowledge, skills, and attitudes in psychiatry are applied to clinical situations and team decision making.
- Participate in clinical partnership to ensure that tāngata whaiora and their whānau receive integrated, appropriate, effective, and efficient assessment and care.
We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand – Waikato. Puawai Regional Forensic Mental Health Service supports people with moderate to severe mental illness who have had contact with the justice system across Te Manawa Taki. We provide secure inpatient care (acute, sub‑acute, rehabilitation and transition wards) and community services to courts, prisons (Waikeria, Springhill, Tongariro), and tāngata whaiora. We work closely with Adult Services to ensure smooth transitions between inpatient and community settings.

About You / Qualifications- Psychiatrist who is vocationally registered or eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
