Head of Showroom – Mitre 10 MEGA Invercargill (Retail Management Position) – Permanent – Full Time (43 hours per week)

Mitre 10 MEGA Invercargill is a locally owned and operated business committed to delivering outstanding customer service and great value products. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and passionate leader to join our team as Head of Showroom due to the relocation of a member of our management team.

• Lead and manage the allocated department categories: Kitchen & Bathroom, Plumbing, Storage & Flooring, Lighting, and Paint.
• Grow team capability, increase sales and profitability, and continuously improve the customer experience.
• Full managerial responsibility across the allocated departments, including sales performance, employment relations, and health & safety.
• Drive sales targets, maintain and enhance store standards, and be actively involved with the products we sell.
• Be part of the operational Duty Manager roster, including working one day at the weekend on a permanent basis. Usual roster pattern: Tuesday to Saturday.

• Extensive experience in sales and people leadership, ideally within big-box retail or grocery. Likely experience as a Store Manager in a small to medium-sized store, or a Department/Assistant Manager in a larger format store.
• Solid experience in the DIY industry.
• Natural leader with excellent communication and people skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and forklift operation.
• Proactive, solutions-focused, and passionate about delivering results.

This is a busy, hands-on role in a fast-paced business environment. This role forms part of the operational Duty Manager roster.
